Americus Travelers National Championship Ring Ceremony - November 1, 2007

The national championship ring ceremony for the Americus Travelers took place at the Russell Thomas Public Safety Building in Americus on November 1. Thurston Clary, Program Director for WDEC and WISK radio, was Master of Ceremonies. Players and coaches received their rings, which were bought by donations from the Americus-Sumter County community. They also received a championship t-shirt, a copy of the recent proclamation made at the city council meeting, and personalized framed mini graphics and key chains. They were each also given a DVD of season highlights prepared by Michael Pepito, who is employed with Hickory Springs in Americus.

Coach Tim Estes recognized each player and coach with a few words; Estes was given a standing ovation at the conclusion of the ceremony. Assistant Coach Chip Langston also made some brief remarks, as did long time webmaster Ken "Moose" Harrill.
