The Travelers 12U began their season with an 11-8 win over the Grey Wolves. Both teams combined for 11 hits, including four extra base. Nathan Duke went 1-for-1 at the plate, with a hit in the fourth. Americus took an early 1-0 lead in their second. They never trailed after plating nine in the third on a deuce-run double by Landon Moore, a solo dinger from Buddy Wester, and a pair of hits. |
March 21, 2015 - Chain |
The 12U Travelers lost to the Chain, 10-8, in five innings. Americus would plate three in their initial at-batter, scoring on a run-batted-in hit by Owen Exley and a run-batted-in hit by Buddy Wester. The team would score once in the third, once in the fourth; the former, the score came via run-batted-in single by Tyler Cheek that plated Exley. John Lightner reached base three times, scoring a pair of runs and contributing two runs-batted-in; he also had a homerun in the fifth. |
