      #01, Head Coach - Tim Estes

Coach Tim Estes founded the Americus Travelers Baseball program in 1995 and has served as either the Head Coach or the Director of Baseball Operations in each of the past 21 seasons. He has spearheaded the program’s rise from a recreational program in 1995 to one of the nation’s elite today. His 2007 Travelers 17U team won the USSSA 17U Major World Series. In addition to winning the National Championship in 2007, Coach Estes has guided his 2013 team and 2015 team to the National Championship game, finishing as the runners up in both of those seasons. He has taken the Travelers to the World Series 14 times in the past 21 years and has finished in the top five nationally in five of those trips. He has been named the National Coach of the Year twice (2007 & 2013).

Coach Estes works as the Parks and Recreation Director for the Sumter County Board of Commissioners. He has served in this role for the past nine years. He was the assistant director for 13 years prior to becoming the director. He began his professional career with the Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department in Montgomery, Alabama serving as the stadium manager of Paterson Field and Cramton Bowl from 1990–1994. During the 1990 & 1991 seasons, he also served as a bird dog scout in the San Francisco Giants organization.

He has coached at the youth level, high school level and the elite travel levels during his coaching career. He was an All-State catcher at Americus High School, graduating in 1987. He played on scholarship at Faulkner University for Hall of Fame coach Tom Fletcher. Coach Estes has been married to his wife Tammie since August 1993. They have two daughters, Lexie and Ashleigh. The Estes attend the Oasis Church of Christ in Ellaville, where he alternates the preaching duties. In what little spare time he has to enjoy, Coach Estes likes to fish, travel to the North Georgia Mountains and the Florida Gulf Coast beaches.

      #31, Assistant Coach - Jeff Fussell

Jeff Fussell enters his third season as the Americus Travelers assistant coach, working mainly with the hitters. He graduated from Americus High School, where he played baseball with the Panthers from 1976-1978. Fussell also holds degrees in advanced electronics from South Georgia Technical College and in applied science from Georgia Southwestern State University.

Coach Fussell is a Certified Youth Sports Administrator and is A.F.O certified to manage aquatic facilities. He is the Recreation Manager for the Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department.

Fussell has been a successful baseball coach for many years. His knowledge of the game and his ability to motivate young men makes him a valuable member of the Travelers staff.

Coach Fussell and his wife, Susie, have two children: Kate, a registered nurse in Columbus, and Adam, a program coordinator for Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency in Woodstock. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf. He and his family are members of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Plains.

      
#09, Assistant Coach - Adam Fussell

Adam is the son of Jeff and Susie Fussell of Americus, GA. He has one sister, Kate. He graduated from Southland Academy in 2008, where he was very involved in the baseball program. Adam was named to the All-Region Baseball Team in both his Junior and Senior years and was named to the All-State Baseball Team his Senior year as well. He spent the summers of 2005-2007 playing with the Americus Travelers. The Travelers won the 2006 AAU State Championship, where Adam was named as an AAU All-American. The team also won the 2007 USSSA National Championship and he was named as a USSSA All-American and to the All-Tournament Team.

In the fall of 2007, Adam played for the 5-Tool Baseball Organization, where he was able to showcase at different colleges throughout the state. In the summer of 2008, he won an American Legion State Championship with Post 182 of Leesburg, GA. Adam signed a scholarship with Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA and played a successful season in the spring of 2009. He transferred to Georgia Southern University, where he graduated with a degree in Recreation and Tourism Management with an emphasis area in Outdoor Recreation. Adam now works for Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency in Woodstock, GA as a program coordinator in the Athletics Division. In his spare time, he likes to play golf, go to the Falcons’ games, and enjoys the outdoors by kayaking, fishing, and taking camping and hiking trips.

May 21, 2016 - Alabama Huskies

The Americus Travelers 16U defeated the Alabama Huskies, 8-6, in a contest that saw the lead change hands six times. Americus snatched the lead after a strong fifth; they went up for good via a deuce-scoring hit by Will Kelley that plated both Camron Vanlerberghe and Jarrett Kemp. The Orange and Navy would plate five in the fifth frame. Kelley posted a pair of runs-batted-in on a pair of hits.

May 21, 2016 - Triton Rays 15U

The 16U Travelers lost to the Triton Rays 15U, 5-4. Americus would plate three in their initial at-batter via a run-batted-in double by Will Kelley, a passed ball and a fielder's choice. They plated their only other score in their third, coming about via wild pitch.

May 22, 2016 - Triton Rays 16U

The Americus Travelers 16U lost to the Triton Rays 16U, 8-3. Americus would take an early 1-0 lead in their second; a hit from Chance Hollomon started the frame.

May 22, 2016 - Central Alabama Indians

The Travelers 16U shutout the Central Alabama Indians, 6-0. Americus posted four of their scores in the sixth inning; scoring came by a run-batted-in hit by Will Lang, a wild pitch, and a deuce scoring hit by Camron Vanlerberghe. Vanlerberghe posted three scores-batted-in on a pair of hits. In the second, Reid Ragsdale contributed a run-batted-in double and Vanlerberghe's hit brought in another score.

Pitching: Gavin Paul went five innings and allowed no earned on five hits.

May 27, 2016 - Team Phenom

The 16U Americus Travelers defeated Team Phenom, 8-6, in a game that saw the lead change five times. Americus took the lead in the fourth, going up for good via a deuce scoring double from Jarrett Kemp that plated both Reid Ragsdale and Tyler Ross. Kemp would have two scores-batted-in on a pair of hits in the contest. The Orange and Navy would head into an early 2-0 lead in their initial at-batter. Will Lanneau had a hit; later, Kemp stole home and Lanneau reached home plate by way of a grounder from Gavin Paul. Will Kelley had a deuce-scoring triple to bring in extra runs.

May 28, 2016 - Carolina Rebels

The Travelers 16U lost to the Carolina Rebels, 4-2. Gavin Paul had a pair of extra base hits, doubling in both the 4th and 7th innings. Americus posted their first score in the 4th frame, the other in their 7th.

May 29, 2016 - Georgia Jackets National 15U

The Americus Travelers 16U lost to the Georgia Jackets National 15U, 6-2. The Travelers would take an early 1-0 lead in their initial at-batter. Jarrett Kemp singled; later, Gavin Paul's double plated Will Lanneau.

May 30, 2016 - Team Elite West 16U

The 16U Travelers lost to Team Elite West 16U, 5-4. Will Kelley would have a pair of extra base hits in this contest, a triple in the initial at-batter and a double in the 5th frame. The Travelers would post one run in their third, coming about a sacrifice fly by Gavin Paul. Kelley's double in the fifth would plate Jarrett Kemp.

June 4, 2016 - Post 34 Tuscaloosa

The Americus Travelers 16U shutout Post 34 Tuscaloosa, 8-0; Americus would score six of their runs in their sixth inning. Camron Vanlerberghe and Tyler Ross both hit sacrifice flys; Jarrett Kemp's hit brought in a pair, and Will Kelley's triple brought in another pair. Kelley would have three scores-batted-in on a pair of hits in this contest.

Pitching: Tyler Ross pitched six innings shutout baseball, allowing five hits.

June 4, 2016 - Post 34 Tuscaloosa 17U

The Travelers 16U of Americus shutout Post 34 Tuscaloosa 17U, 5-0. Americus put their first score up in their initial at-batter via score-batted-in double by Will Kelley. A pair of Travelers reached home plate in the 4th, and a pair more in their sixth. In the 4th, one score came about by an error that plated Gavin Paul. Will Lang's hit brought Will Lanneau to home plate, then Reid Ragsdale's hit brought Lang home.

Pitching: Will Kelley worked all innings on the mound and pitched shutout ball; he allowed no runs, four hits and sent eight back to the dugout.

June 5, 2016 - Troy Post 70 17U

The Americus Travelers 16U lost to Troy Post 70 17U, 13-6. Americus plated one in their initial at-batter, followed by one in their fifth. In the first, a grounder from Will Kelley plated Jarrett Kemp. Four runs came in their fourth inning, what with run-batted-in hits from Chance Hollomon and Reid Ragsdale and a walk from Tyler Ross fueling the frame.

June 5, 2016 - Millbrook Post 133 17U

The Travelers 16U defeated Millbrook Post 133 17U, 9-1. Americus plated six of their runs in the first three frames. Gavin Paul and Will Lang posted run-batted-in hits and Chance Hollomon's groundout contributed to the scoring in their initial at-batter. Lang would have three scores-batted-in on a pair of hits in this contest. Three more scores came about in Americus' third; a clutch error scored Lang. The Travelers would plate two more in their fifth. Tyler Ross scored, then a hit from Reid Ragsdale plated Will Lanneau.

Pitching: Blake Howell worked five innings; he allowed only one hit, no earned, three walks and sent six back to the dugout.

June 10, 2016 - Hillgrove High

The Americus Travelers 16U lost to Hillgrove High, 8-5. Will Kelley would have a pair of scores-batted-in on one hit in the contest; he hit a homerun in the Travelers' initial at-batter. The Travelers would plate one in their second. Jarrett Kemp hit a sacrifice fly. Later, one run would score in the fourth; a walk by Jarrod Wall fueled the comeback effort. Americus then had one score in the bottom of their sixth. Will Lanneau had a run-batted-in hit.

Pitching: Chance Hollomon worked five and 2/3 innings; he allowed three hits, no earned, four walks and struck out one.

June 10, 2016 - Loganville High

The Americus Travelers 16U defeated Loganville High, 7-6. With a knotted score of 6-6, Reid Ragsdale reached home to score the winning run. Camron Vanlerberghe would post two scores-batted-in on a pair of hits in this contest. Ragsdale reached base three times in this contest, scoring a pair of runs and had one score-batted-in. Americus had runs pile on later thanks to Vanlerberghe's run-batted-in hit.

June 11, 2016 - St. Stanislaus, MS High School

The 16U Travelers played to a 2-2 tie against St. Stanislaus High School. Americus would score both their runs in the sixth via score-batted-in hits from Chance Hollomon and Camron Vanlerberghe.

Pitching: Gavin Paul went eight innings. He allowed a pair of earned runs, 10 hits, one walk and sent six back to the dugout.

June 11, 2016 - Game On Abney

The 16U Americus Travelers lost to Game on Abney, 8-5. Will Lanneau would go 3-for-4 in the contest and scored twice; he posted singles in innings one, five and seven. Americus took an early 1-0 lead in its initial at batter; Lanneau's hit helped fuel the frame. They also scored in their fourth and seventh innings; the fourth came by a sacrifice fly from Reid Ragsdale which plated Camron Vanlerberghe. Will Lang later contributed a score-batted-in hit.

June 24, 2016 - Ninth Inning Royals

The Americus Travelers 16U played to a 5-5 tie against the Ninth Inning Royals. Jarrett Kemp got a hit in each of his two at-bats, singling in both the initial at-batter and the third frame. Americus would plate three scores in the first inning via a run-batted-in triple by Camron Vanlerberghe, a score-batted-in hit by Will Kelley and a fielder's choice. The Travelers would add one more in their third by the way of a wild pitch. The game knotted 5-5 in the fifth thanks to a passed ball that scored Reid Ragsdale.

June 25, 2016 - GATA Wolfpack

The 16U Travelers defeated the GATA Wolfpack, 12-9. The contest would go back and forth going into the second frame. The Orange and Navy would take an early 2-0 lead in their initial at-batter. Gavin Paul's double plated Camron Vanlerberghe started things, then more runs scored when Paul reached home plate on a run-batted-in hit by Chance Hollomon. Americus would take the lead in their second and keep it, scoring on a run-batted-in hit by Hollomon which plated Will Lang. After the second frame, additional scores came via a deuce-run error and a pair of hits. Americus put single scores on the board in innings four, five and six; the former saw a run-batted-in double by Jarrod Wall plate Reid Ragsdale.

June 25, 2016 - PBG Bears

The Americus Travelers 16U team defeated the PBG Bears, 5-4. Jarrod Wall drove in the winning run. Will Lang would have a pair of scores-batted-in on three hits - singles in the second and fourth frames and a double in the sixth. Americus would plate one in their fourth, one in the seventh. Gavin Paul's score-batted-in hit plated Will Kelley in the fourth inning.

Pitching: Paul worked seven innings. He allowed one earned, six hits, no walks and sent 11 back to the dugout.

June 26, 2016 - Bombsquad

The 16U Americus Travelers defeated Bombsquad, 9-5, in a contest that saw the lead change five times. The Orange and Navy took an early 2-0 lead in their third; Tyler Ross had a hit, then a grounder by Jarrod Wall moved Ross from first to second. Americus had a very good fifth inning; Will Lang's run-batted-in hit plated Will Kelley. Kelley would have three scores-batted-in on a pair of hits in the contest, tripling in both the fifth and sixth. Americus plated four in their sixth frame, with a hit by Jarrett Kemp starting things off and plating Ross. Kelley's triple brought home both Kemp and Camron Vanlerberghe.

June 26, 2016 - Georgia Bombers/Gaines

The 16U Americus Travelers defeated Georgia Bombers/Gaines, 11-3. The Orange and Navy plated five in their third, scoring on a pair of doubles, a sacrifice fly by Jarrod Wall and a deuce-scoring triple by Camron Vanlerberghe. Americus would plate five in their fourth frame on a deuce-scoring double by Jarrett Kemp, run-batted-in hits by Vanlerberghe and Gavin Paul, and a score-batted-in double by Will Kelley. Kemp went a perfect 4-for-4 at-bat in this contest.

June 26, 2016 - Georgia Bombers/White

The 16U Americus Travelers lost to Georgia Bombers/White, 6-4. Americus posted 12 hits in this contest.Chance Hollomon got a hit in all three at-bats, doubling in the second frame and singling in innings five and seven. A pair of scores in their third helped Americus close the gap. The Orange and Navy would plate two in their seventh - a deuce scoring double by Jarrett Kemp sparked the rally.

Pitching: Kemp worked three innings. He allowed a pair of hits, no earned, walked one and struck out three.

With this game, The Travelers emerged as runner up in the Gold Division of the Triple Crown Summer Blowout.

July 9, 2016 - Americus Travelers 15U

The 16U Americus Travelers defeated the 15U Travelers, 9-1. Americus plated six in their first three frames. Will Kelley went 2-for-5 in the game, driving in one and scoring two. The Travelers scored one each in the third-sixth innings. A fielder's choice brought Chance Hollomon to home plate in the third. Kelley had a solo homerun in the fourth.

Pitching: Tyler Ross worked three innings; he allowed no earned and no walks and sent three back to the dugout.

July 9, 2016 - Game On Abney

The 16U Americus Travelers played to a 3-3 tie against Game On Abney. Americus plated a pair in their sixth, scoring on a groundout by Gavin Paul and a score-batted-in hit by Will Lanneau.

Pitching: Gavin Paul worked eight innings; he allowed one earned, five hits, no walks and sent 11 back to the dugout.

July 25, 2016 - Game On Clark

The Americus Travelers 16U shutout Game On Clark, 8-0, in six innings. Americus plated five of their scores in their fifth via a bags loaded walk, a deuce-scoring error and a deuce-scoring hit by Chance Hollomon. Hollomon would have a pair of runs-batted-in on two hits in the contest. The Orange and Navy also plated a run in their second on a run-batted-in hit by Aaron Greene. The Travelers scored one in their third as a wild pitch plated Camron Vanlerberghe, then scored one again in the sixth.

July 25, 2016 - Central Alabama Nationals

The Travelers 16U defeated the Central Alabama Nationals, 9-1, in five innings. Americus plated five in their initial at-batter. The Orange and Navy scored in the first on runs-batted-in hits by Will Lanneau and Aaron Greene, an error, a bags loaded walk, and a walk by Tyler Ross. Reid Ragsdale went 3-for-3 in this contest, singling in innings one, three and four. Americus would plate three more in their fourth - Gavin Paul doubled, which plated Camron Vanlerberghe. Chance Hollomon's hit brought in both Jarrett Kemp and Paul.

July 28, 2016 - Central Alabama Nationals

The 16U Americus Travelers defeated the Central Alabama Nationals, 6-5, in a contest that went 10 innings and saw the lead trade 10 times. The Orange and Navy had an early 1-0 lead in their second - Will Lanneau's hit started the offense off. Later a hit from Chance Hollomon moved Lanneau from first to third. The Travelers would plate one in the fifth, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Gavin Paul. Later, they scored one in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Lanneau. Americus led for good in the tenth via a deuce-run double by Camron Vanlerberghe that plated Tyler Ross and Jarrett Kemp.

July 29, 2016 - Game On Mallette

The Americus Travelers 16U lost to Game On Mallette, 9-1. Chance Hollomon went 2-for-2 in the contest and scored once; he posted hits in innings two and four. Americus' lone score was in the second via a double from Aaron Greene which plated Hollomon.

July 29, 2016 - Central Alabama Nationals

The 16U Americus Travelers won against the Central Alabama Nationals, 8-3, in six innings. Will Kelley went 3-for-3 in the contest. Americus stayed on top until the last out; they took the lead in their second. Six Travelers were plated via a score-batted-in double by Aaron Greene, a sacrifice fly by Gavin Paul and three hits.

July 29, 2016 - Jacksonville Juice

The Americus Travelers 16U lost to Jacksonville Juice, 8-7, in five innings. Aaron Greene had a hit in all three at-bats, doubling in the third and singling in the second and fifth. In the initial at-batter, Americus took an early 2-0 lead. Jarrett Kemp's hit started things off. An error moved him from first to second. Later, Camron Vanlerberghe's double plated Kemp. Vanlerberghe, in turn, scored on a groundout by Gavin Paul. In the second frame, two more Travelers crossed home plate via run-batted-in hits by Kemp and Will Kelley. Americus plated a pair more in their fifth, what with a score-batted-in hit by Greene and a sacrifice fly by Will Lanneau launching the comeback.

With this game, the 16U season comes to a close with a 16-11-3 worksheet.
