      #01, Head Coach - Tim Estes

Tim Estes is the founder of Americus Travelers baseball and has served as the head coach and/or director of operations since 1995. He has spearheaded the rise of Travelers baseball from a recreational level team in the mid 1990's to a nationally recognized, elite program of today. He has been named the National Coach of the Year twice (2007, 2013).

Coach Estes is a native of Americus, graduating from Americus High School in 1987 where he was an All-State catcher. He signed a baseball scholarship and played collegiate baseball at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. He has coached on a variety of levels; youth baseball all-stars, volunteer assistant at Sidney Lanier High School and elite Travel baseball with the Americus Travelers. He also spent two seasons (1990, 1991) serving as a "Bird Dog" scout in the San Francisco Giants organization. He has spent his entire professional career in the field of public parks and recreation administration (1990-1994 Stadium Manager: Montgomery Parks and Recreation, 1994-2008 Asst. Director: Americus Sumter Recreation Authority, 2008 - Present Executive Director: Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department).

Coach Estes has been married to his wife Tammie since August 1993. They have two daughters; Lexie, a freshman at Georgia Southwestern State University and Ashleigh, a Junior at Schley County High School. The Estes family are members of the Oasis church of Christ in Ellaville where Coach Estes alternates the preaching duties. He enjoys fishing, spending time in the North Georgia mountains and visiting the gulf coast beaches.

      #31, Assistant Coach - Jeff Fussell

Jeff Fussell enters his fourth season as the Americus Travelers assistant coach, working mainly with the hitters. He graduated from Americus High School, where he played baseball with the Panthers from 1976-1978. Fussell also holds degrees in advanced electronics from South Georgia Technical College and in applied science from Georgia Southwestern State University.

Coach Fussell is a Certified Youth Sports Administrator and is A.F.O certified to manage aquatic facilities. He is the Recreation Manager for the Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department.

Fussell has been a successful baseball coach for many years. His knowledge of the game and his ability to motivate young men makes him a valuable member of the Travelers staff.

Coach Fussell and his wife, Susie, have two children: Kate, a registered nurse in Columbus, and Adam, a program coordinator for Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency in Woodstock. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf. He and his family are members of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Plains.

June 3, 2017 - Tri County

The Americus Travelers 17U started off their 2017 campaign with an 8-0 shutout against Tri County. The Orange and Navy would score on hits by Reid Ragsdale, Matt Cooper and Camron Vanlerberghe, walks by Will Lang and Cameron Belcher and a first inning error. Their scoring began in their initial at-batter, what with Ragsdale's hit which plated a run. Cooper and Vanlerberghe both drove in a pair. Pitching: Gavin Paul earned the win, going three frames. He allowed no runs, one hit, he sent four back to the dugout and walked one.

June 3, 2017 - Dothan 17U

The 17U Travelers of Americus defeated Dothan 17U, 7-5, after taking the lead late. They were trailing 5-4 in the fourth when Camron Vanlerberghe's double plated in two Travelers. Americus had taken an early lead in their initial at-batter. Will Kelley drove in a pair with a hit. They took the lead for good in their fourth with three scored; Will Lanneau hit a sacrifice fly to drive in one. The Orange and Navy would post nine hits total. Cameron Belcher and Reid Ragsdale each posted multiple hits.

Pitching: Chance Hollomon earned the win, going two and 1/3 frames. He allowed no runs, one hit and walked one. Tyler Ross earned the save, recording the final three outs. Matt Cooper started, going two and 2/3 frames. He allowed five, eight hits and sent one back to the dugout.

June 3, 2017 - Troy Post 70

The Travelers lost to Troy Post 70, 9-1. Reid Ragsdale, Cameron Belcher and Gavin Paul each had one hit in the contest.

June 4, 2017 - Game On Expos

The Americus Travelers defeated the Game On Expos, 1-0. The Travelers would score their only run in their second on a hit by Chance Hollomon. Matt Cooper, Hollomon, Will Lang, Cameron Belcher, Jarrett Kemp and Paul each had one hit.

Pitching: Gavin Paul and Tyler Ross combined efforts in the shutout; Ross induced a fly out from an Expos player to finish the contest. Paul would earn the win, going five innings. He allowed no runs, one hit and struck out one. Ross earned the save as he recorded the last six outs.

June 9, 2017 - Game On Mizuno

The Travelers of Americus lost to Game On Mizuno, 6-2. Americus took an early lead in their initial at-batter, plating one on a double by Will Kelley with one out at that point. The Travelers scored their only other run in the fifth. Matt Cooper's hit brought in one run.

Pitching: Tyler Ross took the loss; going three and 2/3 innings, he allowed five runs, five hits and struck out one.

June 9, 2017 - Game On Expos

The Americus Travelers were defeated by the Game On Expos, 11-5. The Orange and Navy had ten hits in the contest, with a pair each from Gavin Paul, Will Lanneau and Reid Ragsdale.

Pitching: Matt Cooper took the loss for Americus. He went five innings, allowing five scores, eight hits and sending five back to the dugout.

June 10, 2017 - Game On Mizuno

The Travelers lost to Game On Mizuno, 10-0.

June 10, 2017 - Game On Expos

The Americus Travelers defeated the Game On Expos, 9-4. Americus took an early lead plating six in their second frame on hits by Will Lanneau, Will Lang, Reid Ragsdale (his hit scored a pair) and Camron Vanlerberghe and a walk by Gavin Paul. The Travelers would score one again in their fourth via a sacrifice fly by Cameron Belcher that drove in a run. Americus would post 12 hits total with a pair each coming from Will Kelley, Ragsdale and Vanlerberghe.

Pitching: Kelley took the win; going five frames, he allowed a pair of runs, six hits and sent four back to the dugout.

June 16, 2017 - Jacksonville Post 283 16U

The Travelers 17U of Americus defeated the Post 283 16U of Jacksonville, Florida in an 11-0 shutout. Americus would take an early lead in their initial at-batter on a double by Jarrett Kemp (plating one) and a single by Will Kelley. Six Travelers would cross home plate in the third via an error, a wild pitch and hits by Matt Cooper and Tyler Ross.

Pitching: Chance Hollomon went four innings on the mound; he allowed no runs, one hit, struck out three and one walk.

June 16, 2017 - Jacksonville Post 283 17U

The Americus Travelers 17U won against the Jacksonville, Florida Post 283 17U team, 13-3. Hits by Will Kelley, Gavin Paul, Chance Hollomon and Will Lanneau led to scores in their initial at-batter. Americus would post 14 hits total in the contest; Hollomon, Kelley, Jarrett Kemp and Lanneau all had multiple, and Hollomon and Will Lang each drove in three.

Pitching: Matt Cooper earned the win. Going two innings, he allowed three runs, five hits and struck out one.

June 17, 2017 - Dothan 16U

The Travelers 17U of Americus defeated Dothan 16U, 4-2. Scoring came via hits from Will Kelley and Gavin Paul in their initial at-batter, and Jarrett Kemp in the second frame. Kemp would go 2-for-3 on the day with a pair of scores batted in.

Pitching: Will Lanneau went seven innings on the mound. He allowed a pair of runs, nine hits, a walk and sent three back to the dugout.

June 18, 2017 - Wiregrass Cardinals Blue

The Americus Travelers 17U lost to Wiregrass Cardinals Blue, 4-0. Reid Ragsdale, Will Lanneau and Camron Vanlerberghe each had one hit in the contest.

The 17U Travelers of Americus lost to Ohio Force, 4-1. Chance Hollomon, Will Lang and Jarrett Kemp each had one hit in the contest.

June 25, 2017 - East Cobb Eagles

The Americus Travelers 17U defeated the East Cobb Eagles, 7-3. Americus started strong with three scores via fielder's choice by Jarrod Wall, an error and a hit by Reid Ragsdale in the Travelers' second frame. They would plate four more in their fifth; Will Kelley's double and a grounder brought about the scores. Kelley and Will Lanneau each had two hits in the contest.

Pitching: Tyler Ross earned the win. Going four frames, he allowed a pair of runs, three hits, one walk and sent two back to the dugout.

June 26, 2017 - Mountain Brook High School

The Travelers 17U of Americus were defeated by Mountain Brook High School, 7-4. Americus would plate one in the third and three in their sixth. The Travelers would post eight hits total, with Will Lanneau, Will Kelley and Matt Cooper each having a pair of hits.
